“El gran robo” speaks to the social and political histories of the Tren Crucero – past and present - as a symbol of Ecuador’s relentless desire for economic progress. Under the guise cultural freedom and happiness, Ecuador’s train tells ongoing stories of power, extraction and classism that are mitigated within the ongoing lives of characters that persist here.
